Wie geht's jetzt weiter? Im Chaos der Gegenwart ist es schwer, einfach so weiterzumachen wie immer. Für viele ist das auch gar nicht möglich:
Die Zuwachsraten der Insolvenzen in Deutschland liegen in 2024 monatlich im zweistelligen Prozentbereich. Die Zahl der Arbeitslosen steigt entsprechend und die Kostensteigerung in nahezu allen Lebensbereichen belasten jeden.
Gerade jetzt brauchen wir gemeinwohlorientierte, solidarische Unternehmen: Genossenschaften, Sozialunternehmen, Verantwortungseigentum und Gemeinnützigkeit in all ihren Erscheinungs- und Rechtsformen.
Diese Unternehmen schaffen soziale Verbindungen und entwickeln nachhaltige Lösungen, bei denen die Bedürfnisse von Menschen und Umwelt im Mittelpunkt stehen. Jetzt ist der Moment, diese Form von Wirtschaft aktiv zu unterstützen!
Überall da, wo wir die Wahl haben zwischen extraktiven Geschäftsmodellen und gemeinwohlorientierten Angeboten, sollten wir uns für Letzteres entscheiden - auch wenn diese nicht einfach so im Vorbeigehen konsumiert werden können und mehr von unserer Zeit erfordern: Langfristig führt kein Weg mehr daran vorbei, unsere Wirtschaft von Grund auf neu zu denken und zu organisieren. Zwar hat niemand ein Dehbuch, wie wir dabei am Besten vorgehen sollen. Eines aber ist gewiss: Ein Weg wird dann entstehen, wenn wir uns trauen, gemeinsam loszugehen. How to continue? In the chaos of this present moment, it’s hard to keep going as usual. For many, that’s no longer an option: In Germany, insolvency rates are increasing by double digits each month in 2024. Unemployment is rising accordingly, and the cost increases across almost every area of life are placing a burden on everyone.
Now more than ever, we need community-oriented and solidarity-based businesses: cooperatives, social enterprises, steward-ownership models, and nonprofit legal structures in all their variations. They build social connections and create sustainable solutions that prioritize the needs of people and the environment. Now is the time to actively support social enterprises, as well as cooperative and solidarity-based economic models!
Whenever we have the choice between extractive business models and community-oriented alternatives, we should choose the latter – even if they are less convenient and require more of our time. In the long term, there is no way around fundamentally rethinking and reorganizing our economy. No one has a script for how best to proceed, but one thing is certain: We can create this path by walking it! |
